Terms & Conditions
By visiting the cat lounge, you agree to the following conditions:
Children
Children under the age of 12 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. The supervising adult must ensure the child follows all cat lounge rules. You agree that if any child is behaving in a way that is dangerous or disruptive to the cats, the child and supervising adult may be asked to leave at the cat lounge attendant's discretion.
When a child under the age of 18 visits the cat lounge, all of the conditions on this page apply to both the responsible adult and the child(ren) under their supervision.
Cat safety
It is our duty to keep the cats healthy and safe. You agree to follow our safety protocols by washing your hands with soap and water in the designated hand wash sink upon entrance into the cat lounge. You also agree to either remove your shoes or wipe the bottom of your shoes with a sanitizing wipe, provided by the cat lounge.
All cats have different personalities and needs. You agree to defer to the judgement of the cat lounge attendant on whether a cat wishes or does not wish to be picked up or otherwise left alone by visitors. Further, do not approach a cat when they are displaying signs they wish to be left alone, such as twitching their tail, flattened ears, growling, hissing or loud vocalizing.
Injuries and Illness
Cats have been selected to live in the cat lounge based on their sociability and ability to co-exist with other cats and humans in a safe manner. However, cats are animals and as such may be unpredictable. By visiting, you agree to hold harmless Turquoise Teapot LLC, its employees, volunteers and its rescue partner(s) from any injuries and/or illness caused from your visit, including but not limited to scratches, bites and allergic reactions.
Interacting with animals poses the risk for exposure to zoonotic disease. According to the CDC: Zoonotic diseases are caused by harmful germs like viruses, bacterial, parasites, and fungi. These germs can cause many different types of illnesses in people and animals, ranging from mild to serious illness and even death. Animals can sometimes appear healthy even when they are carrying germs that can make people sick, depending on the zoonotic disease.
You can reduce your risk from contracting a zoonotic disease by washing your hands after coming into contact with animals.
Medical treatment of any kind sought as a result of a visit to the cat lounge is the full financial and legal burden of the visitor and/or their parent or guardian.
